So what does an editor do?

An editor goes through a manuscript with a fine-tooth comb. They correct grammar and spelling, check overall coherence and style, and make sure it is pitched correctly for the intended audience. They do not, however, go so far as to significantly re-write or re-structure the text.
In the field of translation, an editor compares the original and translated texts side by side, thus checking for translation mistakes as well as everything mentioned above.

          JaDE Language Solutions' working method:

JaDE Language Solutions deals with English original texts. So, this service is particularly useful for authors who want to publish their work in English but who are native speakers of another language, although anyone can benefit from my casting a professional eye over their document. I  also edit material that has been translated from Japanese or Dutch into English. Remember that I  can go over any graphs, tables or images included in your document too.

Before I accept an editing project, I will ascertain the length (no. of words or pages) of your document, the technical complexity of the subject matter, and the style and layout required. I can then give you a detailed quote and agree on a deadline. I will also liaise with you to make sure I fully understand the end-purpose of the document. I will keep you informed throughout the project.

See the FAQ page for more information on commissioning an editing project with JaDE Language Solutions.
